Job description

We are looking for a highly analytical, self-driven Business Analyst to join our Agile development team as we continue building the next generation of CSC's License Pro application.

We are looking for someone who enjoys solving complex business problems, navigating ambiguity, and partnering closely with both business and technical teams to design innovative solutions.

Success in this role requires someone who can quickly develop expertise in a complex business domain, think critically, ask the right questions, and independently drive initiatives from discovery through implementation.

You’ll be expected to understand current‑state processes, identify opportunities for improvement, define future‑state solutions, and work alongside Product Owners and development teams to deliver high‑quality software in an Agile environment.

Some of the things you’ll be doing:
  • Partner with business stakeholders, Product Owners, and development teams to identify business challenges and translate them into scalable software solutions.
  • Independently analyze complex business problems, research potential solutions, and recommend the best path forward.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering workshops, stakeholder meetings, backlog refinement sessions, sprint planning, and solution reviews.
  • Develop clear, complete, and well‑organized documentation including user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, business rules, wireframes, and functional specifications.
  • Build a deep understanding of complex business processes and system functionality while becoming a trusted subject matter expert.
  • Collaborate daily with developers, QA engineers, architects, and Product Owners to ensure requirements are understood and successfully implemented.
  • Help maintain and prioritize the product backlog by identifying dependencies, risks, and business value.
  • Lead business process analysis and future‑state design initiatives that improve operational efficiency and customer experience.
  • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing, validate delivered functionality, and ensure solutions meet business objectives.
  • Support change management efforts by assisting with communication, training, documentation, and solution adoption.
  • Monitor solution effectiveness after implementation and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail and delivering high‑quality work.
What technical skills, qualifications, and experience do you need?
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience as a Business Analyst on Agile software development teams.
  • Outstanding analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to solve complex business problems independently.
  • Ability to quickly learn and become proficient in sophisticated business applications and complex business processes.
  • Strong project management, organization, and documentation skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
  • Experience facilitating meetings, driving consensus, and working with cross‑functional stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Experience creating user stories, acceptance criteria, process diagrams, workflow documentation, and functional specifications.
Responsibilities
  • Analyze and understand complex business processes and requirements, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Work closely with Product Owners to define future‑state solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals and user needs.
  • Collaborate with development teams to deliver high‑quality software, providing clear and concise requirements and specifications.
  • Conduct thorough research and gather relevant data to support decision‑making and solution design.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings, ensuring effective communication and engagement with stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation, including process maps, user stories, and system requirements.
  • Perform gap analysis and provide recommendations for system enhancements or new features.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing and ensure the quality of delivered solutions.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices, contributing to the continuous improvement of our processes.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and support to team members and stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar role, preferably in an Agile environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to think critically and ask insightful questions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of building effective relationships.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban, and an understanding of software development lifecycles.
  • Proficiency in creating and maintaining documentation, including process maps and user stories.
  • Familiarity with common business analysis tools and techniques, such as use case modeling and requirements gathering.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and business domains.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high‑quality work.
  • A proactive and self‑driven approach to work, with a passion for continuous improvement.
