Director, Management Advisor, Commercial Data Management
Position Summary
The Director, Management Advisor, Commercial Data Management Solution will lead strategic initiatives that transform how bio-pharmaceutical companies manage their commercial data ecosystems. Reporting to the Vice President of Commercial Data Management Solution, you'll combine business acumen with technical expertise to deliver high-impact benchmarking and advisory services that drive competitive advantage for our clients.
Essential Functions
In this influential role, you'll partner with operational leaders to assess current capabilities, identify optimization opportunities, and develop roadmaps for data-driven excellence. You'll leverage industry benchmarks, best practices, and innovative solutions to help clients navigate complex commercial data challenges across sales, marketing, market access, medical affairs, and patient support functions. Your leadership will elevate TGaS's reputation as the industry's premier data management advisory firm.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead Client Benchmark Engagements (25%)
  • Execute end-to-end benchmarking projects from discovery through delivery, including stakeholder interviews with functional leaders, executives, and operational teams
  • Synthesize quantitative and qualitative data (headcount, budgets, processes, infrastructure, skill sets) to develop comparative analysis against peer organizations and best practice benchmarks
  • Produce actionable benchmark reports with specific, measurable recommendations that address clients' current operational challenges and future-state capabilities
  • Identify cross-functional opportunities to expand engagement scope across TGaS solutions (e.g., Commercial Org Design, Operations, Talent Management)
  • Facilitate strategic workshops and planning sessions that translate benchmark insights into implemented operational improvements

Provide Strategic Advisory Services (60%)
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on Commercial Data Management strategy, providing expert guidance on data governance, platform selection, team structure, and capability development
  • Support urgent client requests with timely, high-quality insights and recommendations
  • Conduct regular business reviews to align TGaS advisory services with evolving client objectives and maximize value realization
  • Design and administer targeted surveys (e.g., VHow network assessments) to gather market intelligence and benchmark competitive positioning
  • Develop and deliver compelling content for client summits, webinars, and industry events that establish TGaS thought leadership
  • Continuously refine advisory methodologies and share lessons learned across the TGaS advisor community

Drive Business Development & Innovation (15%)
  • Identify unmet client needs during ongoing engagements and propose solutions leveraging TGaS's full portfolio and external partnerships
  • Capture market intelligence and client feedback to inform new service offerings and enhance existing solutions
  • Co-develop revenue-generating solutions that align with bio-pharmaceutical industry trends and client priorities
  • Position TGaS as an innovation partner, consistently expanding the breadth and depth of value delivered

Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Management, Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Life Sciences, or related field
  • CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional) or DCAM (Data Capability Assessment Model) certification preferred
  • Minimum 5+ years in pharmaceutical or biotech data management, with demonstrated expertise in commercial operations
  • Proven success leading client-facing consulting engagements, advisory projects, or benchmark initiatives
  • Deep understanding of Commercial Data Management functions, including roles, responsibilities, systems, and best practices
  • Hands-on experience with commercial data platforms and tools (e.g., Master Data Management systems, CRMs, CDPs, Data Lakes)
  • Demonstrated proficiency with analytics platforms and BI dashboards
  • Strong command of data governance frameworks, data lifecycle management, and regulatory requirements (US, EU, APAC)
  • Ability to design and manage complex data ecosystems; experience overseeing cross-functional teams and vendor relationships preferred
  • Excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize competing demands and deliver on time
  • Experience with international or geographically distributed data operations a plus
  • Exceptional communication skills; ability to distill complex data management topics for C-suite and operational audiences
  • Consultative mindset with strong relationship-building capabilities and a track record of long-term client partnerships
  • Demonstrated business acumen and entrepreneurial approach to identifying growth opportunities
  • Comfort working across cultures and geographies; willingness to travel up to 25% domestically).

Trinity's salary bands account for a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets and market demand for skills; level of experience and training; specific qualifications, performance, time in role/company, geographic location, and other business and organizational needs. The base salary range for this role is $165k-$185k per year. Compensation is determined based on factors such as the candidate's skills, experience, job-related education and training, location, and internal equity. In addition to your base salary, you will also be eligible for an annual discretionary performance bonus.
