Job description

Texas State Aquarium provides high quality, entertaining programming through education, conservation, and wildlife rehabilitation. We strive to provide our guests with an exciting, educational, and memorable experience.

Responsibilities include but are not limed to:
  • Assist in the preparation of food according to established procedure.
  • Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of utensils and equipment used to feed and care for animals.
  • Assist in facility maintenance of the animal areas.
  • Perform water quality testing and related duties.
  • Enter Data into TRACKS.
  • Complete animal behavioral observations and report abnormalities to supervisor.
  • Support departmental and organizational goals through proactive teamwork and collaboration.
  • Provide leadership through professional example and by sharing knowledge and skills with others.
  • Deliver exceptional guest service.
  • Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Animal Care
  • Comply with all safety practices, Animal Care policies, practices, and procedures, employee handbook policies, and all applicable governmental and AZA standards.
Requirements
Any combination of education and experience which would likely produce the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Valid Texas Driver’s License with insurable driving record.
