Job Title: Dance Specialist-Camp
Position Summary:
Responsible for creating a fun, safe, and engaging environment for campers enrolled in specialty dance camp, while supporting daily dance instruction and activities.
Essential Functions:
• Design camper programs around specific camp specialties such as dance, acro, and cheer.
• Plan and schedule activities based on the abilities, and interests of campers.
• Choreograph weekly routines for camper performances at the end of the week
• Demonstrate appropriate use of equipment, proper techniques in activity participation, and articulate expected learning and achievement for satisfactory completion of activities.
• Monitor participation to ensure safety rules and requirements are followed.
• Maintain awareness of potential health and safety issues, identify hazards, and take appropriate action to resolve.

Qualifications:
• Minimum 18 years of age.
• High School graduate or equivalent; minimum one year college preferred.
• Experience working with children in day camp setting.
• Ability to interact effectively with children and parents on a range of issues.
• Dance and dance instruction experience. Acrobatics, Cheer, and Jazz or Hip Hop experience preferred
• Certified, or ability to be certified, within first 30 days of hire in CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention.
Physical Demands:
• Required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Required to demonstrate physical stamina and agility, and stoop, kneel, crouch, walk, run, and stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to react to emergency situations by quick movements, strenuous activity, and communicate verbally in a noisy environment.
Compensation: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
