Facilities Technician
  • Support facility operations including but not limited to facilities maintenance, and support such systems as HVAC, Lighting, Compressed Air systems, Construction, Plumbing, Renovation, and Preventive Maintenance Plans with Documentation.
  • Maintain production support equipment such as Di-water systems, pumps, vacuum systems filtration, air pollution control equipment, wastewater treatment systems, etc.
  • Perform maintenance services (painting, patching, ceiling tile replacement, fluorescent lamp replacement, light electrical and light plumbing work).
  • Assist Environmental, Health and Safety Department with safety improvements, Hazardous Materials/Waste services, and overall support for environmental compliance.
  • Document daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly emergency equipment is operational and machine maintenance logs are completed.
  • Be knowledgeable of inventory levels of spare parts and supplies and notifies appropriate individuals to replenish stock when necessary.
  • Follow Company policies and procedures for operational and safety compliance to support organizational goals and objectives.
  • Adapt to the changing demands of the work environment, respond promptly to service calls and emergency's while ethically and respectfully working with all types of employees.
  • Use problem solving skills to identify and resolve any facility or EHS issue in a timely manner and communicate it to the team and/or manager in a tactful manner.
  • Strive to continuously build knowledge and skills and share expertise with team.
  • Additional tasks include non-hazardous and hazardous spill cleanup, assisting the EHS department.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to use basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, and custodial hand and electric powered tools.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with ability to receive and respond to work assignments in both formats.
  • Strong command of the English language both spoken and written. Ability to converse in Spanish is a plus.
  • Read, comprehend, and work from plans and operating instructions.
  • Follow oral and written instructions; maintain cooperative working relationships; demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for a diverse population.
  • Detail orientation with a mindset towards meeting the museum's high standards for maintenance of facilities.
  • Demonstrated time management skills and including multi-tasking.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Keep computerized records and prepare reports. Access and employ job related computer software (email, work planning, time-keeping) at an effective proficiency level.
  • Works independently with limited supervision, interacting effectively with and quickly gaining the respect and support of facilities and museum staff.
  • Interacts with various levels of staff, guests and vendors.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Work Experience:
  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2 year Associate's Degree or Trade school program completion.
  • At least 2 years of Facilities Maintenance experience maintaining the building's interior and exterior.
  • Experience with HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing equipment.

Salary Range:
$44,500.00-$59,300.000
The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, local regulations (such as minimum wage), education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
