How can I make 2000 a week working from home?

As a Search Rater, earning $2000 a week from home typically requires working full-time hours, often 40 or more hours, and may involve multiple clients or platforms that pay per task or hourly. Developing strong research, analytical, and internet skills, along with consistent performance, can help increase earnings, but reaching this level may also depend on the availability of high-paying projects and your experience. Most remote Search Rater roles pay hourly or per task, with earnings varying based on workload and efficiency.

How much does a search quality rater make?

Search quality raters typically earn between $12 and $15 per hour, depending on the company and location. Compensation may also include bonuses or incentives based on performance and accuracy, and the role often requires evaluating search results using specific guidelines and tools.

What is a search rater?

A search rater is a person who evaluates the relevance and quality of search engine results based on specific guidelines. They typically review search results, provide feedback, and help improve search algorithms, often working remotely with flexible schedules and requiring attention to detail.

What jobs pay 4000 a week without a degree?

For a Search Rater, earning $4,000 a week is uncommon, as these roles typically pay hourly or per task and do not usually reach such high weekly earnings. High-paying roles in related fields, such as freelance digital marketing, sales, or specialized consulting, may achieve this income level without a degree, but they often require experience, skills, or certifications. Most jobs paying this amount consistently without a degree involve entrepreneurship, sales, or highly skilled freelance work.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Search Rater, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Search Rater, you need strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and proficiency in web research, often supported by a high school diploma or higher education. Familiarity with search engines, rating platforms, and sometimes proprietary evaluation tools is typically required. Excellent written communication, time management, and the ability to follow detailed guidelines make someone stand out in this position. These skills are crucial for accurately assessing search engine results and ensuring the quality and relevance of online information.

What are Search Raters?

Search Raters are individuals who evaluate the quality and relevance of search engine results. They typically work remotely and are tasked with assessing whether search results meet specific guidelines and match user intent. Their feedback helps improve search algorithms, ensuring users get accurate and helpful information when they search online. Search Raters must follow detailed criteria set by the search engine and often review a variety of content, including web pages, images, and videos.

What are some common challenges Search Raters face, and how can they overcome them?

Search Raters often encounter challenges such as interpreting ambiguous queries, staying updated with evolving guidelines, and maintaining consistency across large volumes of ratings. To overcome these, it's important to regularly review training materials, participate in any available refresher courses, and refer to official documentation when in doubt. Engaging with support forums or team discussions can also help clarify uncertainties and improve accuracy while working independently.

This role will be responsible for driving traffic growth, improving rankings, and translating performance data into clear action plans. You’ll work across a variety of industries and site types, collaborating with developers, designers, and strategists to ensure SEO is tightly integrated into everything we build; whether it’s a client campaign or our own brand presence.

Position benefits:

  • Competitive pay

  • 100% remote work

  • High visibility on projects with real impact

  • Opportunity to shape SEO process and best practices at an established digital agency

  • A no-drama, results-focused team that values autonomy and execution

  • Opportunity to work and grow at an award-winning digital agency

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Own end-to-end SEO strategy for multiple clients, including technical, on-page, and off-page efforts.

  • Conduct in-depth SEO audits, competitive gap analyses, and keyword opportunity mapping.

  • Collaborate with designers and developers during the strategy and build phases to ensure SEO is implemented cleanly.

  • Create structured content strategies and recommendations to support UX and conversion goals.

  • Manage and improve local SEO for clients with physical locations.

  • Track rankings, crawl health, Core Web Vitals, and conversions through platforms like Ahrefs, GA4, and Search Console.

  • Present findings and recommendations clearly to clients, with support from PMs.

  • Run technical SEO audits using tools like Screaming Frog and SEMrush, and summarize findings in plain language with prioritized action steps.

  • Implement on-page SEO updates directly in CMS platforms (primarily WordPress), including meta tags, headers, alt text, internal links, and schema markup.

  • Conduct keyword research using Ahrefs or SEMrush to identify primary and secondary targets for core pages, blog content, and campaigns.

  • Create SEO briefs and outlines to guide writers or internal team members on structure, keyword usage, and topic coverage.

  • Review draft content and optimize for SEO before publishing, ensuring readability, scannability, and performance.

  • Collaborate with developers during website projects to ensure SEO requirements (like crawlability, redirects, and proper URL structure) are met before launch.

  • Set up and configure SEO tools for new websites (Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, basic tracking parameters, etc.).

  • Generate clear monthly reports for clients using GA4 and other tools, highlighting wins, identifying drops, and suggesting next steps.

  • Research backlink opportunities through competitor analysis, brand mentions, and digital PR partners; support execution where relevant.

  • Stay informed about Google algorithm updates and evaluate how they might impact client sites; recommend adjustments accordingly.

  • Attend client meetings (as needed) to walk through SEO performance and explain strategy in non-technical terms.

  • Flag technical blockers or content gaps and collaborate with project managers or client strategists to get them resolved.

Must Have Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of hands-on SEO experience, ideally in an agency setting with multiple active clients

  • Proven track record of delivering measurable growth through SEO, with examples supported by first-party data (e.g., traffic, leads, rankings)

  • Strong working knowledge of Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Search Console, including setting up reports and interpreting traffic behavior

  • Experience managing SEO across a variety of different industry websites, with direct implementation of metadata, schema, redirects, and internal linking

  • Confident conducting keyword research and mapping SEO strategy to business goals (traffic growth, lead generation, etc.)

  • Comfortable collaborating with developers to resolve indexing issues, implement redirects, or improve page speed

  • Able to juggle multiple client projects at once, hit deadlines, and clearly prioritize tasks across clients

  • Skilled in translating SEO insights into plain-English takeaways for clients and internal teams

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a remote team environment

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience managing international SEO or multi-language sites

  • Understanding of conversion rate optimization (CRO) best practices

  • Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira, ClickUp, or Asana
