As a DSP, you’ll work one-on-one with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD), supporting daily routines, community involvement, and personal goals in a way that is engaging, respectful, and empowering.

Client 1 (SE Portland): 

  • Male | 36 yrs | 97233
  • Schedule: Monday and Saturday from 9am-2 pm but can also work with 9am-1pm
  • Likes: His partner, his kids, and his dogs.
  • Needs: Would like someone reliable who has great communication skills. He needs support with household cleaning and chores. He does great when someone works alongside him, keeping him on-task, and helping him break big tasks into clear next steps. He also tends to be a homebody, setting only his family, and could use some support to get out in the community. He prefers shorter shifts (about 4 hours) bc he gets tired and needs alone time each day. Must be comfortable around kids and dogs.

Client 2 (SE Portland): 

  • Male | 10 yrs | 97214
  • Schedule: Mon-Fri 3-7pm
  • Likes: Minecraft, roblox, snacks and vending machines, gardening, fashion, and drinking/making coffee
  • Needs: Looking for someone that can help him understand everyday tasks and direct instructions. Likes a low demand environment. Would like someone who shares the same interests and engages in conversations on his focus topics.

Client 3 (SE Portland): 

  • Female | 14 yrs | 97233
  • Schedule: Mon-Friday, two Saturdays a month
  • Needs: Looking for a DSP that speaks Spanish and English.

Client 4 (SE Portland): 

  • Female | 6 yrs | 97222
  • Schedule: Looking for help Thursday and Friday from 5-8 am and 2:30-7:30 pm. Saturday from 8 am- 8 pm.
  • Needs: Needs help with all ADLs. She has Rhett Syndrome and Erb's Palsy.

Client 5 (SE Portland): 

  • Female | 21 yrs | 97202
  • Schedule: Needs help Mon 2:30-5:30, Tues 4-6pm, Wed 2:30-5:30, Thur 4-6pm, Flexible on weekend
  • Needs: Take her to the library or to some of her Board Spelling lessons. Learn how to communicate with her on a spelling board.

Client 6 (SE Portland): 

  • Male | 8 yrs | 97202
  • Schedule: Mondays and Wednesdays. Can attend Summer camp with client from 9am-3pm. If not, needs support 3pm - 6pm
  • Likes: This client is intelligent and creative. He enjoys drawing, playing Minecraft and telling jokes. He communicates effectively with a large vocabulary.
  • Needs: Working on expanding food choices, making friends, exploring the community, building emotional regulation skills, improving gross motor skills and increasing flexibility.

Requirements
  • 18+ years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ year of caregiving or related experience
  • Valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation
  • Smartphone required
  • Must be able to successfully pass all state-required background checks and meet all ODDS employment eligibility requirements.
  • CPR/First Aid/AED (or willing to obtain)
