Athletic Coaching Requirements
A completed San Carlos Unified School District (SCUSD); Online Application. www.scbraves.net/Employment
Arizona Department of Public Safety Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card/Verification. Application for IVP card will be accepted, pending approval.
All Head Coaches MUST have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a head high school coach.
Must have a valid CPR card from American Red Cross or American Heart Association
All head or assistant coaches, whether paid or volunteer, must complete the NFHS First Aid, Health And Safety For Coaches course.
All head or assistant coaches, whether paid or volunteer, must complete the NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching course.
All head or assistant coaches, whether paid or volunteer, must complete the NFHS Concussion in Sports course.
All head or assistant coaches, whether paid or volunteer, must complete the NFHS Heat Illness Prevention course.
All head coaches must have a valid an Arizona Coaching Certificate or must complete the NFHS Level 1 Certification by taking a
NFHS Sport Specific course or Teaching Sports Skills course (along with other mandated courses)
NFHS Sport Specific Courses offered include: Basketball, Volleyball, Football, Wrestling, Baseball, Softball, Track & Field, Soccer, AACCA Spirit Safety
Spirit line coaches (upon hiring) are also required to have a current AACCA Spirit Safety Certification and attend a NFHS Spirit Rules course each year through the A.I.A.*

*Each course may have a separate fee and must be paid at time of taking the specific course. Once an applicant has taken and passed the course (s), they will then have to provide a copy of their certificate (s) upon submission of application.
