Summary:
The sales associate is responsible for generating sales of destination, enhancement, and lifestyle products by providing superior customer service and customer education; participating in all activities related to the ongoing operation and maintenance of a retail environment.
Duties / Essential Functions:
  • Generate sales of all product categories
  • Maintain updated product knowledge and respond to customer inquiries
  • Stock and replenish merchandise
  • Coordinate product exchange and transfers
  • Stamp, mark or tag price on merchandise
  • Arrange displays to promote sales
  • Complete sales transactions and maintain proper cash accountabilities
  • Assist in cleaning and maintaining the orderly appearance of the store
  • Fill tanks and conduct inspections following company sponsored VIP training
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and practices
  • Other tasks as assigned by the General Manager or designee

Requirements
  • Previous Customer Service experience; six (6) months sales or related experience preferred
  • Certified Scuba Diver or Dive Instructor highly desirable. If not currently certified, must complete at least the academic requirements of a scuba course within the first 90 days of employment
  • A combination of education, certifications, and work experience may be qualifying
  • Overall understanding of personal computer operations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Must be willing and able to work in a collaborative setting with a diverse group of internal and external customers and vendors
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule as dictated by retail needs

Physical Requirements:
  • Position requires employee to work on his/her feet 100% of the time
  • Ability to bend and squat
  • Ability to lift/carry 40+ pounds on a regular basis
  • Ability to climb ladders
  • Ability to access all areas of the store
  • Ability to read, write, count, and do basic arithmetic
