As a Scrum Master / IT Project Manager, this role is responsible for driving the successful delivery of technology initiatives through a balanced blend of traditional project management and Agile Scrum practices. The position emphasizes execution, delivery management, and stakeholder coordination, while also supporting Agile teams through Scrum ceremonies and continuous improvement.

This role is best suited for an experienced Scrum Master who is comfortable operating with a 70% Project Manager focus and 30% Scrum Master focus in a complex, regulated enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management (Approximately 70%)

  • Lead end-to-end IT project planning and execution, including scope, schedule, budget, risks, and dependencies
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and delivery roadmaps
  • Track milestones, manage issues and risks, and escalate as needed
  • Coordinate across technology, business, and vendor teams to ensure on-time delivery
  • Provide clear, consistent status reporting to stakeholders and leadership
  • Ensure compliance with PNC governance, SDLC, and risk management standards

Scrum Master Responsibilities (Approximately 30%)

  • Serve as Scrum Master for Agile teams, ensuring adherence to Scrum principles and best practices
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
  • Remove impediments and support teams in delivering sprint commitments
  • Partner with Product Owners to support backlog readiness and sprint execution
  • Promote continuous improvement and Agile maturity across the team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Scrum Master Certification (CSM, SSM, or equivalent)
  • Proven Scrum Master experience supporting Agile delivery teams
  • Strong IT Project Management experience, managing technology initiatives from initiation through delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to balance traditional project management and Agile Scrum responsibilities
  • Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working in enterprise technology environments, preferably within financial services

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • PMP or other project management-related certifications or training
  • Experience working in regulated or highly governed environments
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to influence without authority and drive alignment across teams
