The Opportunity
The Senior Scrum Master is accountable for establishing Scrum as defined in the Scrum Guide as well as the Scrum Team’s effectiveness. The Senior Scrum Master’s effectiveness lies in their ability to influence without formal authority, drive in establishing a self-managing and versatile team, promote a culture of ongoing enhancement, and guide the team in embracing empiricism through transparent inspection and adaptation. The Senior Scrum Master plays a crucial role in ensuring the team consistently enhances their methods of transforming ideas into valuable increments for both customers and the organization.


What You’ll Work On
Include, but are not limited to, the following:
•    Enable the Product Owner by:
o    Establishing desired product and business outcomes.
o    Maintaining a prioritized Product Backlog.
o    Identifying value and methods of measurement.
o    Understanding capacity limitations and the ability to accurately forecast when work will be completed.
•    Enable the Developers by helping them:
o    Grasp the Scrum Framework.
o    Understand the Increment and the Definition of Done.
o    Embrace testing and adopting small batch thinking
•     Enable the organization by:
o    Assisting with adoption of agile ways of working.
o    Helping build an Agile mindset. 
•     Understand and implement our standard Hard Skills:
o    Establish Ways of Working standards for the assigned Scrum Teams including Scrum events, Definition of Ready, Definition of Done, etc. 
o    Ability to utilize advanced forecasting models efficiently to aid the team in data driven analysis for establishing delivery expectations.
o    Being able to understand, interpret and utilize holistic value and delivery-based metrics such as throughput, defect rate, cycle time, cost savings, revenue generation, CSAT, etc.
•    Participate in mentorship program as a mentee for growth and development.
•    Take on various stances depending on the situation:
o    Teacher – Capable of teaching the Scrum framework and the underlying pillars of empiricism that it sits on. Convey first principles like feedback loops, small batches, cross functionality, and self-management.
o    Coach – Act as an individual and team coach. Help identify areas for continuous individual and team improvement. Help hold the team accountable to themselves.
o    Mentor – Share your own experience and ideas using judgement about when it’s time to help others solve problems through your knowledge vs. helping them come to the solution themselves.
o    Change Agent – Be an advocate for change and experimentation.
o    Facilitator – Guide respectful ways of working, handle disagreements, and assist in conflict resolution on your team. Be willing to step into “the danger zone” and help the team address “the elephant in the room.”
o    Impediment Remover – If no one else can, then it falls to the Scrum Master to take the initiative to remove team and organizational impediments that are blocking the team from being able to make progress on features and functionality.
•    Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.
•    Support and comply with the company’s Quality Management System policies and procedures.
•    Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
•    Ability to act with an inclusion mindset and model these behaviors for the organization.
•    Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 100% of a typical working day.
•    Ability to use a telephone through a headset.


Required Qualifications
•    Bachelor’s Degree in related field as outlined in the essential duties; or High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 3 years of relevant experience as outlined in the essential duties in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree.
•    Proficient with Agile tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.

•    Demonstrated understanding of the fundamentals of iterative and incremental development.

•    Demonstrated understanding of Scrum theory, rules, and practices.
•    Demonstrated understanding and ability to represent both the business and technology.
•    Demonstrated understanding of Agile methodology and frameworks, to include Scrum and Kanban.
•    Demonstrated expertise in agile metrics and reporting.
•    Demonstrated analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
•    Experience in change management and associated best practices.
•    Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation. 
•    Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.


Preferred Qualifications
•    Bachelor’s in relevant field.
•    3+ years of experience in a Scrum Master role or equivalent.
•    Possession of advanced certifications (e.g., Professional Scrum Master II).
 


The base pay for this position is $78,000.00 – $156,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
