Position Summary:
The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for overseeing daily pharmacy operations while serving as a trusted medication expert for patients and healthcare providers.
This individual will work closely with physicians, nurses, care managers, and support staff to optimize medication therapy, improve adherence, and remove barriers to care.

Key Responsibilities:


Pharmacy Operations:
  • Verify and dispense prescriptions accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state pharmacy regulations.
  • Manage inventory, purchasing, controlled substance accountability, and quality assurance processes.
  • Utilize PioneerRx, ScriptPro, and SynMed technologies to optimize workflow efficiency.
  • Support pharmacy growth initiatives and service line expansion.

Patient Care:
  • Provide comprehensive medication counseling and education.
  • Conduct Medication Therapy Management (MTM) interventions.
  • Support compliance packaging and medication synchronization programs.
  • Assist patients with medication affordability programs and prior authorization support.
  • Promote medication adherence through patient engagement and follow-up.
  • Identify opportunities to improve clinical outcomes through pharmacist intervention.

Provider Collaboration:
  • Serve as a medication resource for physicians and clinical staff.
  • Communicate medication-related recommendations and interventions.
  • Assist with formulary optimization and therapeutic substitutions.
  • Support medication reconciliation and transitions of care.
  • Participate in collaborative patient care initiatives within the practice.

Leadership & Team Development:
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians, interns, residents, and support staff.
  • Foster a positive, patient-centered culture.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Support training and onboarding of team members.
  • Mentor pharmacy students and residents.



Preferred Qualifications:

Required:
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
  • Active North Carolina Pharmacist License.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Passion for patient-centered care.

  • Independent pharmacy experience.
  • Ambulatory care experience.
