Role Overview:
The System Administrator II provides technical leadership in the design, implementation, maintenance, and lifecycle management of enterprise server and infrastructure environments. This role evaluates and delivers high-impact IT solutions that balance long-term effectiveness, security, scalability, cost efficiency, and operational practicality. The incumbent leads or contributes to complex infrastructure initiatives, performs advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis, and coordinates closely with Headquarters, vendors, and internal stakeholders. Work requires a high degree of independence, logical problem-solving, and project leadership, supporting both production operations and strategic IT objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Enterprise Server & Infrastructure Management
    Design, install, configure, patch, and maintain Windows and Linux servers and core services including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, file/print, Exchange, SQL, storage, virtualization platforms (VMware/vSphere), and cloud-integrated resources.
  • Advanced Troubleshooting & Incident Management
    Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, and system issues; conduct root-cause analysis; review logs; and produce System Incident Reports for production-impacting events.
  • Backup, Disaster Recovery & Availability
    Develop, execute, test, and validate backup and disaster recovery strategies for servers, Exchange, and SQL databases to ensure business continuity and data protection.
  • Monitoring, Performance & Automation
    Implement and operate monitoring solutions; analyze performance metrics; optimize capacity and resource utilization; and develop automation scripts (e.g., PowerShell) to improve reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Security, Compliance & Lifecycle Planning
    Implement security controls, patch management and compliance processes; perform capacity planning; recommend hardware upgrades; and manage vendor relationships, procurement documentation, and warranty tracking.
  • Project Leadership & Customer Support
    Lead or contribute to infrastructure projects by facilitating meetings, documenting requirements, conducting feasibility studies and testing, preparing approval documentation, and supporting ITSM processes, helpdesk tickets, and stakeholder communications.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field (or equivalent professional experience)
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience serving as a primary administrator for Windows and/or Linux server environments
  • Minimum 2 years of experience administering VMware vSphere environments (vSAN experience strongly preferred)
  • Strong expertise in server administration, troubleshooting, and production support for enterprise systems
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex technical issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement effective solutions
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver assignments and projects within defined scope and timelines

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Microsoft Windows Server and/or VMware vSphere/vSAN certifications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Strong planning, organization, and documentation skills with a track record of successful project delivery
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact professionally with internal and external customers
Availability:
  • Work Schedule: Scheduled hours may vary and are determined based on business and operational requirements within a three-shift operation.
  • 24/7 Operation: As this facility operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the candidate must be available to provide coverage for different shifts (including nights, weekends, or holidays) from time to time as business needs dictate.

Salary range: $30.00 - $43.00 an hour PLUS OT and amazing benefits!
