Job description

This position is for the full academic year, open only to enrolled upperclassmen. Freshmen are not eligible to apply for this position.

Purpose of the position: To assist in producing content for college communications regarding all athletic team events.

Expected hours of work per week: 10-20

Work Location & Hours: Barnes Gym and Game Fields; Times vary

Qualifications for Position:

  1. Knowledge of the sports that are being reported
  2. Ability to relate and converse well with a broad range of people
  3. Courtesy and professionalism
  4. Creativity
  5. Excellent grammar and writing skills
  6. Attention to detail
  7. Comfort and ability to work with a variety of computer software packages
  8. Preferred English/writing educational background; accuracy and attention to detail are very important.
  9. Must be available to work weekends and weeknights
  10. Must be a Covenant College student to apply

Expected Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Gather information by researching and interviewing
  2. Write articles, announcements, etc.
  3. Post content on the college's athletic portion of the website including game recaps, player profiles, and other items of interest
  4. Other projects as assigned by the supervisor
  5. Night and weekend work may be required
  6. Accuracy and attention to detail are very important
