COCC is seeking an Automation Engineer to help streamline the build, deployment, and testing processes across our software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate is adaptable and collaborative, with a focus on ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of both new and existing automation workflows. This person will work with relevant stakeholders to design, implement and support solutions that increase process efficiency within the software development lifecycle, from code branching to deployment. We're looking for local candidates who can be in the Southington, CT office on a hybrid schedule.

What you'll do...

  • Assist in designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab

  • Assist with the migration toward containerized deployments (on-prem and cloud-based)

  • Write and maintain scripts for automation tasks (Bash, Python, or similar)

  • Monitor pipeline performance and troubleshoot build issues

  • Contribute to version control best practices

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, automation, and continuous improvement


What you'll bring...

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred for this role but will consider appropriate work experience and/or relevant certifications

  • 2+ years CI/CD pipeline experience (GitLab; experience with other Git-based pipelines like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc. are acceptable

  • Exposure to containerization platforms and orchestration tools (Kubernetes), proficiency in source control systems (GitLab, Azure Devops Server), and basic programming/scripting experience (C#, Powershell, Python, Bash

  • Strong communication skills and willingness to learn

  • Familiarity with Agile methodology and Jira a plus

  • Local candidates are preferred for this hybrid role.
