Position Description: Purpose Test Conductor 2 shall be responsible for planning, conducting, and analyzing vehicle level tests. Test Conductor will work closely with engineers, managers, and researchers to create and improve test plans and report results and will lead a team to execute field tests and troubleshoot issues.Essential FunctionsLearn customer test objectives, ensure test objectives are well defined, and communicate objectives to test teamDevelop test plans and procedures based upon customers’ needs and processes involvedLead a team of vehicle operators and test assistants to safely execute field tests and ensure test objectives are achieved Analyze test and scenario data once tests are completePrograming and operation of Guided Soft Targets and other collision avoidance test equipmentTroubleshoot hardware, software, car, test execution issues and escalate accordinglyCommunicate test progress and statusEscalate all safety concerns*TRC Inc. is an equal employment opportunity employer and is willing to make a change or adjustment to a job or work environment that allows a qualified individual with a disability to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of a particular job.**Nothing in this job description restricts management’s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.Other Duties and Responsibilities (Non-Essential Functions)Travel to off-site customers and test locations.Develop work descriptions based upon customers’ needs and knowledge of the processes involvedDevelop and coordinate project budgets and proposals based upon customer objectives and supporting BU inputsCommunicate test plans, proposals, non-conformances, and project status to internal and external customersAssist test engineers and technical operations in accomplishing project tasksMake technical decisions with minimal supervision Present proposals and report test results before customer representativesSupport the program planning, logistics, and scheduling processes as required to enable effective and efficient system test and integrationIdentify and implement improvements to existing workflows and test proceduresBuild automation scripts to reduce schedule time and resources for recurring testsCreate and maintain dashboards to display results and status. Generate and present concise test reports highlighting areas of strength and weakness.Support TRC Inc.’s Quality and EH&S (Environmental, Health, and Safety) effortsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in engineeringAbility to demonstrate high level analysis of testing date, with the ability to setup test equipment and understand basic vehicle circuits.Ability to demonstrate high level debugging skills, mechanical understanding of actuators/sensors, and ability to build terminal commandsAbility to demonstrate a high-level knowledge of autonomous sensors and bas vehicle systems.2+ years technical testing and system validation experience preferredBasic understanding of data acquisition systems and instrumentation Familiarity with vehicle systems and subsystemsExcellent organizational and communication skillsGeneral knowledge of computers, including, G-suite programs, basic script writing and troubleshooting, word processing and data analysis softwareProficient in technical report writingProficient project management skillsFlexibility with work hours during busy test periods.
