As a script reader, your primary duties are to read, review, and provide coverage analysis and detailed notes of scripts. Typically, when a writer sends an agent or a studio a new screenplay, it is first screened by a script reader. Your responsibilities are to assess whether the script may be a viable film option for the agent or producer. You may choose to reject the screenplay or send the script to the agent or producer. If you work at an agency, the ultimate goal is either for the agent to sign the screenwriter and sell the script, or for the agent to attach their own talent to the screenplay and persuade a producer or studio to make the film. At a studio, the producer advocates for the script rather than the agent.
| Aspect | Script Reader | Script Supervisor |
|---|---|---|
| Required credentials | Film/TV writing or related experience, sometimes a degree in film or screenwriting | Experience in film/TV production, often with a background in editing or continuity |
| Work environment | Office, studio, or production company; primarily reading and evaluating scripts | On-set during filming, overseeing continuity and script adherence |
| Employer and industry usage | Studios, production companies, agencies, and independent filmmakers | Film and TV production sets, studios, and post-production facilities |
| Common search and comparison intent | Understanding script evaluation roles | Understanding on-set roles related to script management |
The main difference is that a Script Reader reviews and evaluates scripts to advise on their potential, while a Script Supervisor manages continuity and script details during filming. Both roles are essential in the production process but serve different functions within the industry.

Role
Create YouTube content that transforms healthcare expertise into videos patients actually choose to watch.
You'll work directly with doctors, surgeons, dentists and other health experts to uncover what makes them different, identify the questions their patients are actually asking, and turn decades of expertise into compelling YouTube content that educates, builds trust and grows their practice.
This isn't blogging, SEO writing or simply turning articles into video scripts. It's equal parts content strategy, audience psychology, packaging and storytelling.
Before writing a script, you'll identify the strongest topics, develop titles and thumbnail concepts that earn attention, and ensure every video serves a clear strategic purpose within the client's channel.
We need someone who writes for the ear, not the eye. Every sentence should make the next sentence impossible not to hear.
Results
1. Clients become known for something
Every client develops a clear positioning strategy and focused content ecosystem rather than publishing random health tips.
2. Every script earns attention
Scripts consistently create curiosity, tension and retention while remaining medically accurate.
3. Clients sound like themselves
Every script feels authentic to the doctor's voice rather than sounding like it came from ChatGPT or a generic copywriter.
4. Videos support channel strategy
Every video strengthens the broader content plan, builds topical authority and serves a strategic purpose.
5. Clients feel confident on camera
Clients understand why each topic exists and feel excited to record it.
Responsibilities
Content Strategy
Packaging
Develop titles, hooks and thumbnail copy before writing.
Think through:
Script Writing
Write 7 to 12 minute YouTube outlines & scripts that:
Research
Research:
...while remaining grounded in evidence.
Client Collaboration
Lead strategy conversations with clients.
Interview them.
Challenge assumptions.
Extract stories.
Refine positioning.
Gain buy in around channel direction.
Coach clients toward stronger content decisions.
Continuous Improvement
Review video performance.
Identify patterns.
Refine future topics.
Improve packaging.
Improve retention.
Improve scripts based on viewer behavior.
This is not a role for someone who simply writes scripts. It's a role for someone who can identify what is genuinely interesting, package it in a way that earns attention, and then write a script that keeps viewers watching.
Requirements
Must Have:
Strong Healthcare Background
You have significant experience working in, writing about or communicating complex health topics.
You understand medical terminology, conventional and natural health perspectives, patient concerns and the importance of accurate, evidence-based communication.
Relevant backgrounds may include:
Exceptional Conversational Writing
You naturally write the way people speak.
Your scripts sound effortless when read aloud and can be adapted to reflect different clients' personalities and speaking styles.
You understand that a technically correct sentence can still sound unnatural when spoken.
Strategic and Editorial Judgment
You do not simply complete the assigned topic.
You ask:
You can identify the strongest idea, remove what does not belong and build the video around one clear promise.
Audience and Packaging Instincts
You understand the difference between the topic, the intended viewer and the packaging used to attract that viewer.
You can identify:
You ensure that the title, thumbnail, opening hook and actual content remain aligned.
Retention and Storytelling Instincts
You understand how to unfold information rather than dump it all at once.
You can use:
You know when to answer a question and when to hold the answer long enough to keep the viewer engaged without becoming manipulative or frustrating.
Ability to Simplify Complexity
You can quickly understand complicated subjects, identify what matters most to the intended viewer and explain it in clear, conversational language without oversimplifying or introducing inaccuracies.
Research and Interviewing Skills
You are comfortable entering unfamiliar areas of health, researching them responsibly and asking experts detailed questions until you truly understand their perspective.
You know the difference between gathering information and uncovering what is actually interesting.
AI Fluency and Editorial Control
You use AI to accelerate research, ideation, organization and early drafts without outsourcing your judgment to it.
You know how to direct, challenge and refine AI-generated work.
Every final script must feel original, specific, conversational and human.
You are able to identify and remove common signs of weak AI-generated writing, including:
AI may support the process. It cannot replace thinking.
Ruthless Editing
You understand that strong writing is often created by removing more than you add.
You instinctively eliminate:
Client-Facing Communication
You are comfortable leading conversations with accomplished health professionals.
You can listen carefully, ask challenging questions, explain strategic decisions, respond professionally to feedback and respectfully push back when a client's preferred direction is unlikely to work.
You build confidence without becoming passive or overly agreeable.
