Job description

OPTIM ORTHOPEDICS is seeking a full time Phone Operator for the Savannah, GA location.

Primary Duties:

Promptly answer all incoming calls within 3 rings in a professional and efficient manner. Using a tone that conveys warmth, empathy and patience.
Schedules, reschedules, or cancels therapy patientโ€™s appointments for all 6 therapy office locations.
Responsible for sending all new evaluation appointment information over to the pre-certification department.
Promptly and accurately transfers and directs all incoming calls when needed.
Demonstrates a courteous, friendly and professional demeanor while he/she greets patients, visitors and vendors while answering and routing phone calls. Illustrates efficiency regarding patient and doctor inquiries by responding to their needs in a timely manner.
Assist adjusters or outside entities with questions or information needed.
Accurately enters all patient demographics and insurance information into the system as required if providing coverage. Additional responsibilities at certain locations may include eligibility and authorization verifications for scheduled patients at that location.
Provides coverage and backup for front desk and check out as needed.
Maintains a professional demeanor even when callers are upset. Prevents, calms, or defuses irate callers and patients by working with them to properly identify their concerns and direct the call appropriately. Uses proper discretion and judgement when contacting a supervisor if necessary.
Provides directions and general information to patients to include the required script for their appointment and provider protocols.
Maintains a high level of confidentiality when servicing patients.
Performs routine and some non-routine, continuous work involved with the operation of telephone call center. Must have adequate hearing to answer phone and speak with patients in a clear and professional tone and manner.
Maintains a knowledge of the practice โ€œphone treeโ€ therefore transferring calls appropriately.
May be required to work flexible hours and some weekends.
Maintains area of special assignment.
