QA Automation Engineer with Agile experience
Olympia, WA

Job Description:
As a QA Automation Engineer, the individual will be responsible for building and maintaining testing automation scripts and frameworks using products like Selenium, Test Complete or JavaScript. The individual should be proficient in evaluating quality assurance test requirements to determine scope to be covered by the automated testing suite, creating and maintaining automated test scripts and executing automated test suites. The
automation engineer should be highly proficient and must have a good understanding of best practices in software development following Agile methodology.
Primary Role and Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with architects, product owners and designers to develop a strong understanding of the project and product testing objectives
• Develop effective, reusable and maintainable automated functional test framework and test cases to achieve maximum code coverage in a fast-paced agile environment
• Design, develop, execute automation scripts and analyze automation test results
• Perform manual testing of test cases as and when needed
• Reviews automated tests and provide suggestions to improve the quality of the test
• Communicate test results and highlight any potential quality risks
Qualifications:
• Strong knowledge of automated test methodologies is essential, including automated test script development, automated test tool/utility development, and participation in establishment of an automated testing framework
• Overall 6+ years of work experience
• Minimum three years of hands-on experience with:
o Developing automation test framework and scripts using products such as Selenium to automate testing of Web application and Postman for APIs
o Developing automated unit test scripts using products such as xUnit
o Integrate tests into the make/build process for continuous integration efficiency using frameworks such as TFS
o Ensure that automation scripts are supported across all preferred browsers and platforms
o Test management tools such as TFS for Agile, HP ALM etc
• Proficiency in other scripting languages as C# and Unix Shell Scripts, etc
• Experience with SQL, XML, SOAP, REST and JSON
• Strong knowledge of QA methodologies and best practices
• Excellent communication skills
