Position: Full Stack Automation Engineer - OnsiteCompany: Anomalix Inc.
Location: Chicago, IL
Status: Independent Contractor or FTE
Anomalix is looking for a highly skilled programmer with automation skills. As a Full-Stack Automation Engineer you will be responsible for developing and testing applications. While contributing to the ongoing effort of improving and sustaining the customers website and mobile application. The role is technically demanding in nature. You will be expected to create, maintain, and enhance automated tests and framework libraries. The framework will be utilized as part of a Continuous Process (CI/CD).
Our ideal candidate is an enthusiastic software engineer who has a background in programming combined with a passion for software quality and test automation. For this position, candidates must be located in Chicago, IL and be able to work onsite 5 days a week.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop, Enhance, and Maintain code that is designed to verify quality of software across all layers Unit, Service, User Interface using Java and/or Groovy, Selenium (UI)
  • Help identify gaps in test coverage and develop quality test code to fill such gaps
  • Actively participate in code reviews to ensure that object-oriented design best-practices are followed at all times
  • Proactively work with Product, QA, and Development right from inception through functional validation and launch
  • Assist with issue triaging and root cause analysis
  • Manually test new changes as necessary

Requirements:
  • 4+ years of industry Java/Groovy development experience
  • Experience writing test scripts in Selenium
  • Appium experience is required for Mobile automation
  • Experience writing test scripts for Restful Web Services
  • Experience with testing frameworks such as J-Unit or Behavior Driven Development (BDD) tools such as Cucumber
  • Competency with source control (preferably Git) and Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins
  • Experience with Docker (preferred)
  • Experience with Splunk or other logging frameworks (preferred)
  • Good communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to actively participate in code reviews
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and be able to work through challenges as they come up
  • Located in Chicago, IL and be able to work onsite 5 days a week
  • Authorized to work without sponsorship in the U.S.

Qualifications
  • 4+ years of relevant, hands-on experience in a development environment
  • Experience with Automated Testing tools (Selenium, Appium, JUnit, Behavior Driven Development Tools)
  • Experience working within an Agile Development framework using JIRA
  • Experience in developing automation testing solutions for complex integrations
  • An eye for improving operational efficiency with software
  • Ability to prioritize effectively, communicate clearly, and consistently deliver results
  • Keen attention to detail and high level of commitment
  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher), preferably in a technical area of study
