This typically includes a summary, analysis of strengths and weaknesses, and a recommendation on whether the script should move forward in development. Interns gain hands-on experience in storytelling, industry standards, and what makes a script marketable. The role is common in production companies, talent agencies, and literary management firms, and is ideal for aspiring screenwriters, producers, or development executives.

Strong analytical reading skills, attention to detail, and a background in film, literature, or creative writing are essential for a Script Coverage Internship. Familiarity with script formatting software like Final Draft and experience with coverage forms or databases are often required. Excellent written communication, time management, and the ability to provide constructive feedback help interns stand out.
