Job Description:

This role sits at the intersection of our Tax practice and our product development efforts, analyzing complex tax and business processes to be solved with automation and artificial intelligence. The Senior Product Analyst partners directly with tax professionals to understand how work actually gets done, then translates that understanding into clear requirements, user stories, and delivered product capability.

How You'll Spend Your Time
  • Acting as the primary interface between the Innovation team and the firm's Tax practice and Product managers translating tax process pain points into product requirements
  • Partnering with tax subject matter experts across compliance, provision, and advisory to document current-state workflows and identify opportunities
  • Leading requirements definition and delivery for tax-focused products, including client intake, workpaper automation, document extraction, and review workflows
  • Writing user stories and acceptance criteria based on business-driven functionality as well as technical capabilities (working with both the Product Owner and Innovation team)
  • Building and executing test scripts, coordinating user acceptance testing with tax teams, and triaging defects through resolution
  • Assisting with execution of product delivery and services which includes benefit realization (ROI of new products, features, tools, services, etc.)
  • Helping the Innovation team align change catalysts to ensure successful adoption and utilization of products within the Tax practice
  • Facilitating knowledge sessions, demonstrations, and training with subject matter experts and stakeholders across the firm
  • Tracking adoption, usage, and time savings, and reporting results back to Innovation and Tax leadership
  • Participating in sprint planning and project/process specification meetings
  • Understanding data movement and detailed knowledge of upstream and downstream systems, including tax software platforms, and the interactions and dependencies between them
  • Seeking awareness of product scope (e.g. MVP) and providing input to define clear user stories to inform product development

The Kind of People We Want to Talk to
  • Required Education Level: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Technology, Information Technology, or Management Information Systems
  • Required Years of Experience: 6+ years' experience preferred
  • Required tax experience: direct experience supporting or working within a tax practice or Tax Products (compliance, provision, or advisory), with working knowledge of tax workflows, terminology, and busy season cycles, and the ability to hold credible conversations with tax professionals
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Copilot and the broader Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including building or configuring Copilot agents, prompt design, and evaluating AI-generated output
  • Familiarity with tax technology platforms and document automation tools used in a professional services environment
  • Experience running user acceptance testing, writing test scripts, and managing defect triage
  • Agile and product management certifications with experience with Azure DevOps and User Story creation
  • Progress toward or desire to obtain Prosci and/or PMP certification
  • Strong personal and communication skills both written and verbal; ability to develop relationships with all stakeholders
  • Exhibits willingness to try new ideas, even when different than status quo
  • Ability to work with several technology platforms including Microsoft Office and various innovative tools and systems such as but not limited to Agile to define clear user stories
  • Ability to prepare charts, tables and diagrams to assist in analyzing problems, utilizing, if necessary, various business, scientific and/or engineering mathematical techniques
  • Responsive and ability to manage multiple projects and communications simultaneously
  • Excellent attention to detail; ability to multitask and adapt to shifting needs and priorities
  • Able to learn and adapt to new and complex procedures quickly
  • Excellent time management skills

The compensation range for this position is $100,000-$120,000 and varies by location for candidates residing in California, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, or Rhode Island. For candidates residing in these states, salary will vary based on candidate's location. In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual's skills, experience, and qualifications.
