Job description

Job Title: Quality Engineering Consultant

Location: Tallahassee, FL (Onsite)

Duration: 12 months + potential ext


We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineering Consultant to support software quality assurance, testing, process improvement, and quality auditing initiatives.


What You’ll Do

  • Review functional and design specifications to identify system testing requirements
  • Develop and execute formal test plans, test cases, and test scripts
  • Perform application and database testing in Microsoft SQL Server environments
  • Design and manipulate test data and validate stored procedures, jobs, triggers, and replication
  • Track QA metrics including defects, test results, and overall testing status
  • Analyze testing and quality data to identify opportunities for process improvement
  • Facilitate test plan reviews and use-case discussions with development teams and stakeholders
  • Demonstrate tested functionality in support of User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Document defects/issues and assist with resolution
  • Conduct quality audits across IT functions to ensure adherence to established standards, procedures, and methodologies
  • Provide quality-process guidance and training to technical teams
  • Collaborate with State and federal stakeholders as needed


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years of IT and business experience
  • 5+ years of relevant Quality Assurance technical experience
  • 2+ years of audit, assessment, or related experience
  • Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server database testing
  • Experience designing/manipulating test data and validating stored procedures, jobs, triggers, and replication
  • Ability to translate technical requirements into effective test plans
  • Strong understanding of the technical aspects of software solutions being tested
  • Good understanding of business processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with automated testing / test automation
