RAM specializes in the design, production, and supply of “Access Plugs” or “Shoulder Plugs” for Air Cooled Heat Exchangers. These plugs are critical construction and repair components of heat transfer equipment found in refineries, petrochemical and chemical plants, power plants, and other industrial processing and commercial facilities throughout the world.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Maintenance & Repair Technician is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, and **repair of all multi-spindle screw machines, including Wickman and ACME units. **This hands-on position supports production by performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues, assisting with machine setups, and operating screw machines as needed. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to maintaining equipment reliability, quality, and safety.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

· Perform routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance on ACME, Wickman, and other multi-spindle screw machines to maximize equipment uptime and production efficiency.

· Troubleshoot mechanical issues, determine root causes, and perform timely repairs to minimize downtime.

· Perform major and minor repairs on multi-spindle screw machines and related production equipment.

· Operate screw machines as needed to support production requirements.

· Assist with machine setups, changeovers, adjustments, and fine-tuning for various production runs.

· Inspect equipment for wear, identify potential failures, and recommend preventative maintenance or replacement of components.

· Maintain accurate maintenance logs, repair records, and parts usage documentation.

· Assist with preventative maintenance programs and continuous improvement initiatives to increase machine reliability.

· Support tooling changes, machine upgrades, and process improvement activities.

· Assist operators by providing guidance on proper machine care, safe operation, and routine maintenance practices.

· Ensure all work complies with company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards.

· Take full responsibility for ensuring all maintenance and repair work meets required specifications and supports the production of quality products.

· Perform other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

· High School diploma or GED.

Work Experience

· Minimum of five (5) years of experience setting up, operating, maintaining, and repairing ACME or Wickman Multi-Spindle Screw Machines.

· Experience performing mechanical troubleshooting and equipment repair in a manufacturing environment.

· Experience with preventative maintenance programs is preferred.

Skills

· Strong mechanical troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair skills, including major and minor repairs of ACME and Wickman multi-spindle screw machines.

· Working knowledge of cams, gears, center height adjustments, Reed thread roll heads, and machine tooling setups.

· Ability to calculate feed rates, RPMs, and geometry required for machine setup and machining operations.

· Ability to sharpen and maintain production tooling, including cut-off blades.

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, tooling documentation, and engineering specifications.

· Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, indicators, and thread gauges.

· Working knowledge of metals, alloys, machining principles, and manufacturing processes.

· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities.

· Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.

· Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and multitask effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
