Growing Independent Building Material and Design Company
Zuern Building Products is a family-owned and operated building material supplier and design company. We take pride in our tradition of providing high quality building materials and valuable services to our customers. We are "Building on Service".
Zuern Building Products is currently looking for the right person to join our Woodworking Shop team at our Menomonee Falls location. This is a full-time position. Must be available Monday through Friday.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
  1. Studies blueprints or drawings of articles to be constructed or repaired, and plans sequence of cutting or shaping operations to be performed.
  2. Matches materials for color, grain or texture.
  3. Sets up and operates woodworking machines such as power saws, jointer, mortiser, tenoner, molder, and shaper, to cut and shape parts from wood stock.
  4. Uses machinery such as table saw, jointer, planer, cut off saw, miter box, air nailer, sanders, routers, cordless drill and screw gun to produce parts and pieces required to assemble cabinets, mantels, stairparts, drawer boxes millwork and prehung doors.
  5. Stacks lumber or wood products on floor or in bins to supply machine operators or assemblers.
  6. Trims component parts of joints to ensure snug fit.
  7. Bores holes for insertion of screws or dowels.
  8. Glues, fits, and clamps parts and subassemblies together to form complete unit.
  9. Drives nails or other fasteners into joints at designated places to reinforce joints.
  10. Sands and scrapes surfaces and joints of components.
  11. Applies filler, putty, or other material to fill wood pores, holes, cracks, or other indentations.
  12. Installs hardware such as hinges, catches and drawer track.
  13. Loads and unloads materials from trucks and moves material to designated areas within the shop and at customer construction job sites.
  14. Care of product against damage.
  15. Attention to safety procedures at all times.

Requirements
  1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in the English language.
  3. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  4. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  5. Ability to read a ruler, tape measure, and understand units of measure.
  6. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with the ability to twist and bend.
  7. Alert, focused and detail-oriented.
  8. Physically and mentally fit.
  9. Self-starter who works well independently as well as the ability to work well with others when needed.
  10. Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful.
  11. Forklift certification may be required.
