Job description
Trillium Construction is now hiring an experienced Manual Machinist in East Chicago, IN!
We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to set up and operate manual vertical and horizontal mills and drill presses to produce precision parts in a fast-paced shop environment. Candidates must be comfortable working independently, reading blueprints, performing calculations from drawings, and holding tight tolerances.
Pay & Schedule:
- $30/hour
- $770/week per diem
- Monday – Friday (40-48 hrs per week)
- 1st shift
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate manual vertical and horizontal mills
- Machine parts up to 40" diameter capacity
- Operate drill presses and other manual machining equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Perform calculations and measurements from prints
- Machine precision parts while maintaining tight tolerances
- Inspect completed work using precision measuring instruments
- Work independently while maintaining quality and production standards
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of manual machining experience
- Strong experience with manual mills and drill presses
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Strong shop math and measurement skills
- Experience working to tight tolerances
