Scientific Director (Oncology)
Join our Enterprise Content team as a Scientific Director and help shape educational experiences that make a measurable impact in oncology care. In this role, you will collaborate with a talented internal team to create digital and video content that informs, inspires, and empowers oncology professionals - ultimately improving patient outcomes.
You will draw on your clinical expertise, leadership skills, and strategic insight to turn complex clinical data into clear, compelling educational projects, guiding them from concept to completion to meet educational needs of oncology audiences.
You will also have opportunities to support and train direct reports to independently accomplish all essential roles and responsibilities described above. This will include providing clear, precise instructions for each assignment, conducting thorough reviews, and offering guidance on best practices in writing and editing.
In this role, you will lead diverse projects and serve as a subject matter expert, engaging with clients, key opinion leaders, and cross-functional internal teams. You will ensure that all content meets the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and relevance, while effectively communicating complex scientific concepts to professional audiences.
Responsibilities
  • Assess client needs and deliver strategic, evidence-based recommendations to guide the development of relevant, accurate, and high-quality scientific content for oncology healthcare professionals
  • Interpret and apply medical literature, clinical practice guidelines, and disease-state knowledge across multiple tumor types to create content that reflects current best practices and addresses key educational gaps
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in support of business development initiatives, collaborating with sales teams to identify and present opportunities for funded projects and programs, and participate in project management activities as needed
  • Collaborate within a cross-functional team and effectively communicate with internal professional services (project management, editorial, medical writers, and design services) to ensure high-quality output
  • Engage with clients and key opinion leaders through regular meetings to build relationships, align on strategy, and translate complex scientific concepts into clear, impactful communications for medical professionals

Qualifications
  • A clinical degree (PharmD, DO, MD) or advanced degree (MS, PhD) in the healthcare-related field (life sciences, biomedical sciences)
  • 3 or more years of strong oncology account experience in agency/medical communications company with promotional video, events, or other digital deliverables
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, coupled with strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to multitask, quickly adapt, and manage and meet multiple timelines simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment
  • Management experience
  • Ability to travel to meetings

Compensation Range:
$125,000 - $135,000 per year, depending on qualifications. Eligible for annual company bonus program or commission incentive based on role. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for this position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience.
