Position Summary The Associate Director, Global Medical Neuroscience Medical Communications is a key contributor within the Global Medical Communications organization, responsible for supporting the development and execution of medical communications strategies across the BMS Neuroscience portfolio - spanning Neurology, Neuropsychiatry, Alzheimer's Disease, Neurodegeneration, Multiple Sclerosis, Spasticity, and emerging pipeline assets. This role partners closely with the Senior Director, Global Medical Neuroscience Medical Communications and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver scientifically rigorous, ethically grounded, and strategically aligned communications across all phases of drug development and commercialization. The Associate Director will contribute to the development and execution of high-quality publications, scientific content, medical education, and congress presentations - serving as a subject matter expert for assigned Neuroscience therapeutic areas and ensuring BMS's scientific voice is communicated with clarity, credibility, and impact.

This position reports to the Senior Director, Global Medical Neuroscience, Medical Communications. Key Responsibilities Medical Communications Strategy & Execution Support the development and execution of the medical communications strategy for assigned Neuroscience therapeutic areas, ensuring alignment with the broader Global Medical Communications function, disease area medical strategies, and portfolio priorities as directed by the Senior Director. Participate as a core member of the respective AIMS teams, contributing to the development of clear, compelling, and viable execution plans aligned with disease area-specific Medical Communications strategies and overall Neuroscience objectives.

Support the execution of Scientific Narrative pull-through, Scientific Communication Platform (SCP) application, functionally integrated publication plans, and content strategies for assigned Neuroscience therapeutic areas. Contribute to the development and execution of high-quality, personalized medical communications, including timely journal submissions, peer-reviewed publications, congress presentations, and internal and external scientific content for assigned Neuroscience indications. Partner within the global matrix organization to support quality planning and timely communication of key scientific information for BMS Neuroscience assets across assigned therapeutic areas and markets.

Support the development and execution of functionally integrated, aligned medical communications plans across key markets and assets; help adapt communications plans in accordance with clinical trial results, milestones, and changes in the healthcare landscape. Support the Senior Director in budget management for assigned therapeutic areas, contributing to resource allocation and disciplined execution against defined priorities and financial targets. Data Dissemination & Scientific Excellence Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned Neuroscience therapeutic areas on the communication landscape, HCP preferences, publication and scientific content planning, and data disclosure and dissemination - representing BMS scientific communications to external investigators, key authors, and journal editors as appropriate.

Support process improvements to ensure BMS remains an ethical, credible, and innovative leader in the practice of publications and scientific content; ensure all activities for assigned therapeutic areas are fully aligned with Good Publication Practices (GPP), ICMJE guidance, and all applicable industry standards, consistent with standards set by the Senior Director. Ensure all BMS team members and external partners engaged in Neuroscience publication activities for assigned areas follow Good Publication Practice guidance with the highest degree of integrity, quality, and transparency. Apply scientific and research expertise to support strong working collaborations with internal and external disease-area experts for assigned Neuroscience therapeutic areas, contributing to quality data analysis, interpretation, communication planning, and data disclosure.

Partner internally to identify, set timing, and support execution of data dependencies and related disclosures across multiple communication channels for assigned Neuroscience assets. Identify and contribute to opportunities to enhance processes, tools, and operating procedures within assigned therapeutic areas, consistent with Global Medical Communications standards. Stakeholder Engagement & Cross-Functional Partnership Serve as a Medical Communications functional partner to Neuroscience disease area colleagues, cross-functional stakeholders across Medical Strategy, Commercial, Regulatory, Safety, and HEOR - providing expert scientific communications support that positively impacts the business for assigned therapeutic areas.

Represent assigned Neuroscience therapeutic areas in relevant cross-functional forums and planning processes, contributing to communications decisions in alignment with the Senior Director, Global Medical Neuroscience Medical Communications. Build and maintain collaborative relationships with academic and clinical experts, publishers, medical associations, and other relevant stakeholder groups for assigned Neuroscience therapeutic areas; participate in external initiatives to foster trust and credibility within the academic and medical publishing community. Collaborate with internal stakeholders across the matrix and other Scientific Communications & Engagement teams (e.g., Customer Engagement, Field Medical Excellence, Congress Strategy, Training & Compliance) to leverage external insights and inform medical communications planning for assigned areas

Support the development and tracking of metrics aligned to meeting customer needs and demonstrating desired outcomes of Neuroscience communications activities; contribute to regular performance metric reporting to the Senior Director. Partner with third-party vendors to support the appropriate balance of internal and external execution of work, maintaining quality, compliance, and strategic alignment with Global Medical Communications standards. People & Organizational Contribution Support and contribute to a high-performing, collaborative, and inclusive team culture within the Global Medical Neuroscience Medical Communications function.

Provide mentoring and guidance to junior team members and contract staff as appropriate, contributing to a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous learning. Support diversity, equity, and inclusion in all decision-making and talent development efforts. Contribute to the broader organizational capability of the Neuroscience Medical Communications team as directed by the Senior Director.

Model and champion BMS Values and the highest standards of scientific integrity in all activities. Perform other responsibilities as assigned by leadership. Compliance & Operational Excellence Ensure all medical communications activities for assigned Neuroscience therapeutic areas meet the highest standards of integrity and compliance, including Good Publication Practices (GPP), ICMJE guidance, Sunshine Act, Pharma Code of Conduct, and all other applicable post-marketing and scientific data communication standards - consistent with policies and frameworks established within the Global Medical Communications function.

Partner with stakeholders on medical activities including labeling, safety surveillance, scientific advisory boards, congress support, real-world data generation, and publications, ensuring high-quality deliverables for assigned Neuroscience indications. Complete all assigned SOPs and training within designated timeframes and adhere to job-specific SOPs and work instructions. Conduct all business in accordance with BMS Values and relevant compliance standards.

Qualifications & Experience Education: Advanced scientific degree required; PharmD, PhD, or MD preferred. Experience: Minimum 5+ years of progressive pharmaceutical/healthcare industry experience, with a meaningful focus on medical communications strategy and execution. Experience managing projects and deliverables within a global, matrixed Medical Communications organization in Neuroscience or a related therapeutic area preferred.

Industry Expertise: Strong understanding of biopharma drug development and commercialization across multiple phases. Background in medical affairs, publications, scientific content development, and data dissemination. Neuroscience experience preferred; experience in one or more Neuroscience therapeutic areas (Neurology, Neuropsychiatry, Neurodegeneration, MS) is an advantage.

Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and execute in a matrixed environment - driving performance, building alignment, and collaborating effectively with cross-functional stakeholders at multiple levels. Compensation Overview: Princeton - NJ - US: $155,540 - $188,480 The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee's work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience.
