About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated Associate Scientist to join an innovative Research and Development team focused on advancing next-generation genomics technologies. This role is ideal for a scientist with a strong background in molecular biology, genomics, and next-generation sequencing (NGS) who is passionate about developing cutting-edge genomic solutions.

The Associate Scientist will contribute to the development, optimization, validation, and execution of advanced genomics workflows while collaborating with cross-functional teams supporting research, product development, and commercialization initiatives. The ideal candidate possesses strong laboratory skills, excellent analytical abilities, and thrives in a fast-paced biotechnology environment dedicated to scientific innovation.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, execute, and optimize molecular biology experiments supporting research and product development initiatives.
  • Perform genomics workflows including DNA and RNA extraction, library preparation, PCR, qPCR, next-generation sequencing (NGS), and quality control.
  • Develop, troubleshoot, and optimize laboratory protocols to improve assay performance, reproducibility, and efficiency.
  • Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and communicate findings through technical reports and presentations.
  • Collaborate with Research and Development, Bioinformatics, Product Development, Manufacturing, and Quality teams on cross-functional projects.
  • Support the development, validation, and commercialization of new genomics technologies and products.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory documentation in accordance with quality standards and Good Documentation Practices.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation used for molecular biology and sequencing workflows.
  • Perform literature reviews, experimental planning, and technology evaluations to support scientific innovation.
  • Assist with technology transfer activities and process improvements as products transition toward manufacturing.
  • Mentor junior laboratory personnel and contribute to a collaborative research environment.
  • Maintain laboratory safety standards and ensure compliance with established protocols.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Genomics, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Cell Biology, or a related life sciences discipline. A Bachelor's degree with equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
  • 2 to 5 years of laboratory experience in biotechnology, genomics, molecular biology, or life sciences research.
  • Hands-on experience with Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) workflows and library preparation.
  • Experience performing molecular biology techniques including PCR, qPCR, DNA/RNA extraction, gel electrophoresis, and nucleic acid quantification.
  • Experience with genomics assays such as RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, Hi-C, chromatin analysis, epigenomics, or related sequencing technologies.
  • Strong understanding of experimental design, assay optimization, troubleshooting, and scientific method.
  • Experience analyzing scientific data using GraphPad Prism, Microsoft Excel, or similar data analysis tools.
  • Excellent laboratory documentation, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to scientific excellence.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a commercial biotechnology, genomics, or life sciences organization.
  • Familiarity with chromatin conformation technologies, epigenomics, spatial genomics, or chromosome conformation capture methods.
  • Experience with bioinformatics tools, Python, R, or statistical analysis software.
  • Experience supporting assay development, product development, or technology transfer.
  • Knowledge of GLP, GMP, ISO, or regulated laboratory quality systems.
