SJCRH
The Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital invites applications for a faculty position within the Division of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
The core mission of the Division is to discover the biological basis of inter-patient variability in drug effects and translate this knowledge into precision medicine for children with catastrophic diseases. The Division currently comprises 12 laboratory-based principal investigators, including three members of the National Academy of Medicine, with more than $7 million in NIH funding annually. It also houses the Center for Translational Pharmacology and the Pharmacotyping Resource.
This newly created position is part of the departmental strategic plan to grow our programs in pharmacogenomics and therapeutic sciences, which is supported by substantial institutional commitments in resources and space.
We are interested in experimental biologists at the interface of (or with a primary focus on) one of the following areas: experimental therapeutics, molecular pharmacology, and functional genomics. We also welcome applications from data scientists using population genomics and EHR/biobank-driven approaches to study drug-related traits.
Faculty members at St. Jude are provided with uniquely generous institutional support, e.g., salary, research operating budgets, and support staff positions, depending on the candidate's qualifications and needs.
As a premier research institute focusing on catastrophic diseases in children, St. Jude offers outstanding opportunities and support to collaborative research programs in pharmaceutical sciences, developmental therapeutics, cancer biology and genomics, infectious diseases, neurobiology, non-malignant hematology, cell therapy & immunology, late effects of cancer therapy, computational biology. Interdisciplinary research programs, along with outstanding shared resources, facilitate collaborations among a highly collegial group of scientists across the institution.
Successful candidates should have a PhD in pharmacology, therapeutic sciences, or a related discipline or clinical doctorate (PharmD or MD) and appropriate post-doctoral training. A strong track record of publications and productivity is essential..
