ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
SUMMARY: Cal Poly Pomona Enterprises is currently seeking two undergraduate assistants to support Animal and Veterinary Sciences Research for Summer 2026. The selected students will work under the supervision of Dr. Dakota Discepolo the Department of Animal and Veterinary Sciences from June 1st to August 14th.
SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):
  • This position will assist with one or more of the following activities:
  • Students will work with Dr. Discepolo in receiving, organizing, analyzing, and presenting canine activity data from a collaborating working dog organization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be a current Cal Poly Pomona student in good standing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Proficiency in excel and power point.
  • Majors in Animal and Veterinary Sciences or Animal Health Science are preferred.
  • Must demonstrate creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to meet project deadlines.
  • Must be able to work independently and in a group dynamic as part of research activities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Excellent scientific written and verbal communication skills.

This position may be considered for internship credit with the approval of the student's department chair or internship coordinator.
