@Orchard LLC is seeking an experienced Outreach Communicator to support a highly visible NOAA program. This position is contingent upon contract award.


The Outreach Communicator supports education and outreach programs by coordinating and delivering educational programming and community engagement activities. This position works with diverse audiences including students, educators, coastal communities, tribal leaders, and local governments to promote ocean science literacy and awareness of NOAA initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate outreach and education programs.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions, workshops, and educational events.
  • Engage with diverse audiences including schools, universities, community organizations, and tribal leaders.
  • Prepare outreach materials, presentations, and educational resources.
  • Coordinate logistics for multi-day outreach events and training programs.
  • Support travel and outreach efforts across U.S. coastal communities and territories.
  • Develop communication strategies.
  • Document outreach activities and prepare reports on engagement outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, education, marine science, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in science communication, education, or outreach programs.
  • Experience engaging with diverse community audiences and educational groups.
  • Strong presentation, writing, and communication skills.
  • Experience organizing outreach events or training workshops.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to outreach locations domestically.
