We envision a world where individuals with intellectual disabilities are equipped with the necessary tools, support, and resources to create a joyful and fulfilling life, integrating into society in meaningful and impactful ways.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Program Development Intern to support the codification and development of our programs for adults with IDD.

The Program Development Intern is a strategic individual, passionate about supporting people with IDD and with an interest in finding and creating solutions that help improve their Quality of Life. This role requires a good understanding of the nonprofit landscape and how to codify strategies for success. Experience with disability justice is desired.

This position is ideal for students interested in nonprofit leadership, public health, disability advocacy, social impact, and research.

Please note: This is an unpaid opportunity. The internship may be eligible for academic credit (please confirm with your academic advisor).

Key Responsibilities

  1. Program Development
  • Work alongside the Program Manager to continue developing our initiatives that include our Community Events, among others.
  • Help us establish and grow our current programs, to contribute to our mission of supporting and empowering adults with IDD to thrive.
  • Support our Community Events Program
  1. Program Codification
  • Codify the program development to create guides, SOPs, Toolkits for replication and usability of different stakeholders
  • Bring different perspectives, with a people-first approach to create solutions that truly support our community of adults with IDD

  • Commitment to serving the community and making a difference.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Commitment

  • Duration: Marchโ€“June 2026
  • Time Commitment: 5โ€“10 hours per week
  • Format: Fully remote
  • Schedule: Flexible, with one required weekly team meeting (Tuesday, Wednesday, or Friday; exact day confirmed prior to start)

Interns are expected to contribute consistently throughout the cohort and complete assigned regional research and verification goals.
