Job Description

Applications will be considered on an as-needed basis determined by department need. This position may close early if the hiring need is filled or do to volume of applications received.

CSN is looking to hire part-time instructors to teach Political Science (mostly on-ground, but possibly online). Job responsibilities will include teaching mostly, if not exclusively, Introduction to American Politics (PSC 101, a four-credit course that includes a Nevada constitution and politics component). Duties also include developing syllabi and course materials as well as evaluation of mastery of skills and competencies as required by course outcomes. Successful candidates are expected to provide an excellent teaching experience, engage in student advisement and participate in assessment of general education, program and course outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in political science (Ph.D. preferred) from a regionally accredited college or university with at least 18 graduate credits in the subject being taught (also from a regionally accredited college or university).

$925.00 per credit hour. Credits will vary by semester.
