Job description

Overview:

Lincoln Leadership Academy Charter School is seeking a enthusiastic and qualified High School Science Teacher to join our team. We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic about making a positive impact in urban communities, passionate about science education, and capable of engaging students in inquiry-based learning experiences across various scientific disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:Curriculum Development and Instruction:
  • Develop and implement dynamic and handson science lesson plans aligned with state standards and school curriculum guidelines
  • Provide instruction in one or more science disciplines, including chemistry, biology, or general science
  • Lab Instruction and Safety:
  • Facilitate laboratory activities and experiments to enhance students' understanding of scientific concepts and principles
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and procedures during lab experiments and demonstrations
  • Content Mastery:
  • Demonstrate expertise in the subject matter and pedagogy of the assigned science discipline(s)
  • Foster curiosity and critical thinking skills through inquirybased learning experiences
  • Assessment and Feedback:
  • Administer assessments to evaluate student learning and mastery of science concepts
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their laboratory reports, projects, and assessments
  • Differentiated Instruction:
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with varying academic abilities and learning styles
  • Provide accommodations and modifications as needed to support student learning
  • Classroom Management:
  • Establish and maintain a positive and safe classroom environment conducive to learning and scientific exploration
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies to promote student engagement and behavior management
  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Education, or a related field
  • Pennsylvania teaching certification in Biology 712 or General Science 712
  • Previous experience teaching high school science preferred
  • Strong knowledge of scientific principles, laboratory procedures, and science curriculum standards
  • Clearances: FBI fingerprints, PA state background check, child abuse history clearance, and a physical examination
