Science Faculty Position (2026-2027 School Year)

Massanutten Academy - Woodstock, Virginia

Massanutten Academy is seeking an energetic, dedicated, and student-focused educator to join our faculty for the 2026-2027 academic year. Located in the beautiful foothills of the Massanutten Mountains in Woodstock, Virginia, Massanutten Academy provides a structured, supportive environment where students are challenged to achieve academic excellence, develop leadership skills, and grow as responsible citizens.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • Teaching experience in Science or a related field preferred
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, parents, and cadets
  • Commitment to fostering a structured and disciplined learning environment

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teach Physical Science (8th Grade), Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, and other courses as assigned
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum objectives
  • Conduct laboratory activities and demonstrations in accordance with established safety procedures
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and cadets
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date grade book
  • Mentor cadets through weekly advisory meetings
  • Participate in occasional weekend duties and school events
  • Adhere to all Academy policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook
  • Help maintain and foster a structured, disciplined, and positive classroom environment
  • Support the Academy's mission of academic achievement, leadership development, and character education
