The Role:

The Project Executive plays a vital role in ensuring strategic alignment between Hermanson Company and our external customers, delivering exceptional customer service that reflects our mission, vision, and values. This position requires providing leadership and expertise tailored to specific markets and/or customers, with the ultimate aim of offering the best value to our clients while positioning Hermanson Company as the preferred partner.

In addition, the Project Executive will actively share and promote best practices, fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration among both internal and external teams. This role also involves participating in the development and execution of strategic plans for key clients and organizations, thereby supporting the overall Business Plan.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with BGL to identify and develop:
    • Primary point of contact for strategic accounts in the Healthcare, Life Science/Biotech Market Sectors.
    • Key decision makers and potential revenue stream for key accounts.
    • Identify, track and implement strategy for key market opportunities within each strategic accounts.
    • Strategy to meet Revenue, P&L and Overhead requirements within each strategic account.
  • Sell and oversee/manage $10M to $15M in projects annually.
  • Manage proposals; set strategy and lead team on project pursuits.
  • Lead and align resources during preconstruction, responsible for these resource expenditures (engr, est., etc.).
  • Responsible for project scope determination, system recommendations including associated preliminary sub and equipment selection as required for developing the proposal.
  • Perform/support conceptual and GMP estimates during project pursuit and during preconstruction.
  • Actively manage select projects and oversee Project Managers for customer oversight and advocacy during construction phase of project.
  • Develop project strategy and lead project turnovers to facilitate transition of project strategy from sales team to construction team.
  • Establish and review project budgets and sold margins with Group Leaders and Construction Executives.
  • Attend preconstruction design development meetings and maintain budget controls.
  • Manage precon budget P&L, including spending plan & OH recovery, performing monthly financial forecasts and billings.
    • Note: depending on the project, a PM may be available to assist and work along PX for some of these duties.
  • Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies for assigned clients and markets.
  • Manage team members assigned to him or her to achieve the goals and objectives as of the Business Group.
  • Develop and maintain "Best of Class" knowledge of Healthcare, Life Science and Biotech clients and cost metrics.
  • Participate in industry and client facing events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Accountabilities & KPIs

  • Achieves assigned revenue & profitability and other business.
  • Achieves identified customer objectives.
  • Completes strategic customer account plans to company standards.
  • Maintains high customer satisfaction ratings to company standards.
  • This position is responsible for delivering project margin that is commensurate with their salary.

The salary range for this position is $150,000 to $160,000 plus variable sales incentive pay. (The compensation offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills and experience).

Qualifications:

The qualified candidate must have demonstrated the ability to analyze and perform pursue/no pursue and go/no go recommendations and develop pursuit strategies for new business opportunities. The position will also require previous experience in evaluation, competitive environment assessment, value-based pricing, price to win analyses and probability of winning.  A proven track record of negotiation and closing high value contracts involving strategic business relationships. 

Candidate must have the following experience:

  • Five years plus experience of mechanical Healthcare, Life Science and Biotech construction sales and project management.
  • Contract negotiation with GC executives, Owners, Sr. PMs, & key personnel.
  • Familiarity with Estimating, project management, engineering functions and practices.
  • Possess strong written and communication skills.
  • Ability to positively influence and persuade others.
  • A record of achievement in selling across market segments and to GC Accounts.
  • Is a disciplined, strategic thinker and can quickly develop a holistic view of Hermanson's business, building and nurturing key relationships focusing on desired outcomes, creating competitive advantage for the whole company.

  • This position is required to support field personnel and service our customers on projects.  Depending on project requirements this may require full time presence on the site and in some cases, presence before and after the project scheduled hours.  Flexibility on hours and location of work is dependent on project requirements as determined by your supervisor. 
  • This position requires the ability to walk and maintain balance over rough, icy, or muddy ground, climb stairs and ladders, work safely at heights without fear, and to work effectively while exposed to the weather for long periods.  

Education:

Four-year University degree, preferably in engineering, architecture, or construction management, or equivalent experience.
