Job description

We are seeking a Technical Project Manager with deep Splunk expertise to lead and deliver enterprise-scale Splunk and observability initiatives. This role requires a strong blend of project management discipline and hands-on technical knowledge to successfully drive complex Splunk deployments, enhancements, and migrations.

The ideal candidate understands the Splunk ecosystem end-to-end and can effectively manage cross-functional teams while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to business objectives.


Key Responsibilities


Project Leadership

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of Splunk-related projects, including implementations, upgrades, migrations, and optimization initiatives
  • Define project scope, timelines, milestones, and deliverables
  • Manage project plans, track progress, and ensure adherence to schedules
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and blockers, and proactively drive resolution
  • Provide regular status reporting to stakeholders and leadership

Splunk Technical Oversight

  • Serve as the technical liaison for Splunk architecture, data onboarding, and platform enhancements
  • Collaborate with engineers to design and implement scalable Splunk solutions (indexers, search heads, forwarders)
  • Oversee data ingestion pipelines, parsing, and normalization strategies
  • Ensure best practices are followed for performance, scalability, and security
  • Validate technical deliverables and ensure alignment with requirements

Stakeholder & Team Coordination

  • Coordinate across engineering, infrastructure, security, and business teams
  • Translate business requirements into actionable technical plans
  • Facilitate meetings, workshops, and technical discussions
  • Manage vendor relationships and external partners as needed

Governance & Process

  • Establish and enforce project governance, standards, and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
  • Support Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies as appropriate

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in technical project management
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Splunk Enterprise and/or Splunk Cloud (REQUIRED)
  • Deep understanding of:
    • Splunk architecture (indexers, search heads, forwarders)
    • Data onboarding, parsing (props/transforms), and SPL
    • Observability, logging, and/or SIEM use cases
  • Proven experience managing complex, enterprise-level Splunk projects
  • Strong ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Splunk certifications (e.g., Splunk Core Certified Power User, Admin, or Architect)
  • Experience with tools like Cribl, Kafka, or other data pipeline technologies
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Experience in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, government)
  • PMP, Scrum Master, or similar project management certification
