Job description

PTMW, Inc., is seeking a skilled and motivated Pre-Fabrication (PFAB) Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring our production equipment operates efficiently to support our commitment to quality and on-time delivery.
Maintenance Technicians are responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the fabrication equipment. Equipment includes Press Brakes, Punch/Shear machines, CO2 Laser/Punch machine, Roll Form machine, CNC Router, Robotic loading and material handling of various workshop equipment. Brands include Prima Power, Schroeder, Bradbury and Bystronic.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develop a thorough understanding of equipment operations to effectively diagnose machine failures.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance tasks promptly to minimize production downtime.
  • Update and maintain the Preventative Maintenance database.
  • Install and replace punches and dies for machinery.
  • Operate a surface grinder for sharpening punches and dies.
  • Conduct building maintenance as needed.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Valid driver's license
  • A detail-oriented, "ownership" attitude toward work.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work additional hours (overtime) to meet demand as needed
  • Capable of lifting up to 100 lbs
  • Ability to pass pre-employment background check, drug screen, physical capacity test, and breath alcohol.

Preferred:
  • Either a vocational/technical degree in industrial maintenance or 1+ year of industrial maintenance in a manufacturing plant
  • Experience with turret punch presses, press brakes, or roll form sheet metal processing machines is a plus.
  • Knowledge of CNC controls and experience diagnosing and repairing PLC-controlled electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Familiarity with frequency drives.
  • Proficiency in computer programs such as Excel and Access is helpful.
