Behavior Technician (BT) – School-Based Opportunities | 2026–2027 School Year

Location: Mission Viejo, CA
School Year: 2026–2027
Pay Rate: $23–$27 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule Options: Substitute/Fill-In, Part-Time, and Full-Time opportunities available based on district and assignment needs

Position Overview

Amergis is seeking compassionate and dedicated Behavior Technicians (BTs) to support students with special needs in a school-based setting. In this rewarding role, you will work alongside educators, Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), and school support staff to implement behavioral interventions, promote student success, and help create positive learning environments.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about special education, behavioral support, and making a meaningful difference in students' lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) under the supervision of a BCBA
  • Provide individualized and small-group behavioral support to students
  • Accurately collect, document, and report behavioral and academic data
  • Support skill development in communication, social interaction, academics, and daily living activities
  • Collaborate with teachers, school personnel, and families to promote student progress
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold all professional, ethical, and compliance standards
Preferred Qualifications
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification
  • Previous experience working in a school, ABA, or behavioral health setting
  • Experience supporting children or adolescents with special needs
Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of two (2) years of pediatric experience preferred
  • Current CPR certification, if applicable
  • TB screening, PPD, or chest X-ray as required by assignment
  • Ability to meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
