School Security Officer

We are seeking a vigilant and proactive School Security Officer to safeguard students, staff, and visitors within educational environments. This position involves maintaining a secure campus through vigilant surveillance, access control, and emergency response.

Requirements:

  • MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A 12-PANEL DRUG SCREEN
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Clean background check
  • Driver’s license or State I.D.
  • Strong communication and decision-making skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure

Duties

  • Monitor school premises and conduct regular patrols to identify potential security risks
  • Control access points by verifying identitie checks on visitors and contractors
  • Respond swiftly to incidents or emergencies, including medical emergencies, conflicts, or security breaches
  • Write detailed incident reports documenting any security concerns or occurrences during shifts
  • Perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting when necessary for equipment or supplies
  • Operate emergency response procedures including AED (Automated External Defibrillator) operation, CPR, and fire safety protocols
  • Manage access control systems to ensure authorized entry while maintaining a secure environment

Preferred Experience

  • Prior experience in security, law enforcement, military service, or related fields highly preferred
  • Training in first aid, CPR, AED use.
  • Familiarity with conflict de-escalation, conflict management, and emergency response procedures
