Job description

Job Summary: 

The janitor position is responsible for keeping buildings clean, sanitary, orderly, and in good condition. This position may work for various departments such as Asset, Operations, or others as assigned. 

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

  • None 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Gather and empty trash. 
  • Sweep, mop, or vacuum building and breakroom floors. 
  • Clean restrooms and stock them with supplies. 
  • Clean spills and other hazards with appropriate equipment. 
  • Wash windows, walls, and glass. 
  • Clean and disinfect surfaces that are touched frequently. 
  • Order cleaning supplies.

  • Notify managers when a building needs major repairs. 
  • Pick up garbage around buildings and carry garbage to dumpsters.
  • Sweep walkways
  • Lock doors to secure buildings. 

 

Required Skills/Abilities:  

  • Ability to follow instructions and safety protocols. 
  • Ability to plan and complete tasks in a timely manner. 
  • Ability to self-manage. 
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Must be able to read and communicate in English to understand technical documents, safety procedures, and instructions relevant to job duties. English proficiency is required due to operational and safety communication needs. 

 

Education and Experience: 

  • High school diploma or GED required. 
  • Previous experience performing janitorial duties preferred. 
  • Possess current driver’s license. 

 

Physical Requirements:  

  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds. 
  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, and working in company spaces. 
  • Walk for long periods of time. 
  • Carry cleaning equipment around facility, up and down stairs.
