POSITION TITLE: School Bus Drivers
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Start and end bus runs at assigned times every workday. Correctly read and follow assigned routes. Pick up and deliver students at assigned times in assigned locations every workday. Obey and follow all state of Georgia and Coweta County School System bus safety rules, procedures and policies. Obey all State of Georgia traffic regulations, especially those dealing with school buses. Be able to lift and place disabled children in fire blanket and drag them to the emergency door. Supervise students while loading, riding and unloading buses. Cooperate with principals, teachers and parents. Cooperate with and maintain a good relationship with all other school system employees. Familiarize and effect compliance with Coweta County Public School Driver's Manual. Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Transportation, and/or transportation personnel.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION OR TRAINING:
High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred, MVR/criminal/drug and alcohol review, passed state physical examination. Valid commercial driver's license. Maintain a functional telephone service.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Large vehicle experience not required but may be a factor in final selection of successful applicant.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Ability to follow oral and written instructions quickly and accurately; ability to carry out an emergency evacuation; ability to read road maps of various designs; ability to satisfactorily complete the school system driver training course; good communication skills; ability to lift 50 lbs. or more.
