Description

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate, inspiring Middle School Dance Instructor to guide our 6th-8th grade students through the creative, vibrant world of dance. In this role, you will introduce students to foundational dance techniques while fostering self-expression, confidence, and artistic growth.

Beyond technical instruction, we are looking for a mentor-someone who leads by example and is grounded in their faith. You will have the unique opportunity to serve as a Christian role model, helping students build confidence and encouraging them as they establish their personal foundation in Christ.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instruction & Curriculum: Teach the fundamentals of dance across multiple styles, including Hip Hop, Modern, Jazz, and Lyrical, tailored specifically for middle school skill levels (6th-8th grade).
  • Creative Expression: Design engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans and choreography that foster creativity, movement appreciation, and teamwork.
  • Faith & Mentorship: Serve as a positive Christian role model, integrating encouragement, spiritual values, and mentorship into the classroom environment.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a supportive, safe, and structured classroom culture where students feel comfortable taking creative risks.
  • Performances: Prepare students for end-of-term showcases, school events, or ministry-focused performances as needed.

Requirements

  • Dance Background: Strong technical foundation and teaching experience in Hip Hop, Modern, Jazz, and Lyrical styles.
  • Passion for Youth: Demonstrated ability to connect with, engage, and inspire middle school students (ages 11-14).
  • Faith Alignment: A strong, active personal faith in Jesus Christ, with a desire to shepherd young hearts and help students grow in their spiritual walk.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with students, parents, and school leadership.
  • Experience: Prior instructional or studio teaching experience with youth is preferred.
