Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and engaging High School Biology Teacher to lead courses in Biology, Life Sciences, and related scientific subjects. This part-time role is ideal for an educator passionate about fostering scientific inquiry, hands-on lab experience, and critical thinking in a supportive academic environment.

Schedule & Hours

  • Total Weekly Hours: 22 hours per week
  • Monday – Thursday: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM
  • Friday: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging instruction in Biology, Life Sciences, and related science electives.
  • Develop inclusive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, integrating hands-on laboratory experiments and real-world applications.
  • Assess and grade student coursework, lab reports, exams, and projects, providing constructive and timely feedback.
  • Maintain a safe, well-managed classroom and laboratory environment conducive to active learning and exploration.
  • Track student progress and communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and administration regarding academic performance.
  • Utilize educational technology and varied instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biological Sciences, Science Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • State teaching certification/license in Secondary Science/Biology (or eligibility to obtain).
  • Prior experience teaching high school biology or student teaching at the secondary level.
  • Strong lab safety knowledge, classroom management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to commit to the specified afternoon and Friday schedule consistently.
