Our mission is to provide behavioral solutions for at-risk children and their families throughout the state of Mississippi. Will's Way is a privately owned psychology and ABA practice based out of Hattiesburg, MS. Will's Way was founded by Dr. Kimberly Bellipanni Hargrove and Dr. Dannell Speights Roberts in 2008 in hopes of providing quality, behaviorally based solutions for families and schools across Mississippi. Will's Way is committed to improving the lives of individuals and families by providing the best care possible. We accomplish this by building partnerships with families, using compassion and understanding in our treatment planning, and focusing on evidence based interventions. Currently, we have three locations in Mississippi: Hattiesburg, Gulfport, & Summit.

Description

This job is great for enthusiastic individuals who love interacting with children and lends itself well to people interested in psychology, early childhood development, speech therapy, social work, and/or elementary education.

The RBT position is a paraprofessional who works one-on-one with clients diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Most clients are between the ages of 2 and 12 and have delays in one or more areas (communication, self-help skills, and social skills). The RBT is a position responsible for delivering direct instruction, implementing behavior plans developed by the BCBA or BCaBA, collecting data and maintaining a professional relationship with parents and the community.

Our clients learn through modeling and play! RBTs should have high energy, be willing to play and be silly with clients, be creative, and have a passion for helping others.

We are looking for full time staff. Our hours of operation are 8:00-5:00 PM Monday through Thursday and 8:00-2:30 PM on Fridays. We are also accepting applications for part time staff with afternoon availability (1:00-5:00 PM Monday through Thursday).

The RBT is a nationally recognized certification granted by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). The RBT practices under close and ongoing supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and/or a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA).

No experience is required. Company will assist applicant with required training and provide on the job training. Company will pay expenses of becoming an RBT (online course, RBT test, etc.) if a position is offered and accepted.

Applicants must be able to:

  • Play with children (pretend play, modeling, being silly)
  • Work with children who are seated on the floor and/or in small chairs
  • Move frequently throughout the therapeutic setting to gather materials, anticipate and respond to the movement of a patient, and/or provide instruction in a variety of settings, such as school, playground, clinic, or community locations. This includes positioning oneself to participate and respond to behaviors of clients as well as block or prevent aggression from clients (e.g., kneeling, crouching, blocking doorways, teaching play skills, climbing, jumping, etc.)
  • Be able to utilize continuous visual tracking in order to monitor the movement of patients, as well as the items and circumstances in the surrounding environment
  • Frequently teach patients to use vocal speech. Must be able to articulate sound and model speaking clearly, as well as listen to and shape vocal communication of patients
  • Work in both indoor and outdoor settings as they relate to the patient's natural environment, which may include being outdoors in a variety of weather conditions (e.g., community skills, recess in a school setting, etc.)
  • Be able to lift up to 30 lbs. while assisting patients
  • Be able to pass required training components including: completion of online learning modules and quizzes, participation in hands on role play sessions with trainer, completion of field training with patients, passing a comprehensive written exam and passing a field evaluation prior to working independently with patients.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have reliable transportation that is insured and have a valid Mississippi Driver's License
  • Must be able to provide and pass a criminal background check
  • Experience/interest in working with children
  • Availability of 40 hours per week for full-time consideration
  • Familiarity with iPads
