About the Role:
We’re seeking a dedicated and proactive Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to join our team in a school-based setting, providing 1:1 support to students with autism. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a difference, confident in the moment, and committed to student safety and success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 behavior support to students with autism in a school environment
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a BCBA
- Respond quickly and effectively to behaviors such as elopement to ensure student safety
- Communicate clearly with school staff, caregivers, and the clinical team
- Track data and document student progress throughout the school day
- Promote independence and skill-building in social, academic, and daily living areas
Must-Haves:
- Paraprofessional license through ISBE (must be active before starting)
- Current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) required; we can provide RBT certification support for those new to the field.
- Experience working with children, preferably those with autism or in special education
- Confidence in decision-making and responding in high-stakes moments
- Punctuality and strong communication skills
Nice to Have:
- School-based or classroom experience
- Familiarity with behavior intervention strategies
- Calm under pressure and quick on your feet
