Familiarity with data collection systems, behavior tracking software, and progress reporting tools is essential. Strong communication, patience, and collaboration skills are vital for working effectively with students, teachers, and support staff. A School Based Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) works closely with teachers, special education staff, and school psychologists to support students with behavioral or developmental needs. Collaboration often involves regular communication, participating in team meetings, and sharing observations to help develop and implement individualized behavior intervention plans. What is a school based RBT?

School-based Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) are trained professionals who work within educational settings to provide behavior therapy and support to students, particularly those with autism or other developmental disorders. They implement behavior intervention plans designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to help students develop social, academic, and life skills. RBTs work closely with teachers, school staff, and families to ensure consistent and effective interventions, fostering a positive learning environment for students.

What You’ll Do
  • Work one-on-one with children (ages 1–18) diagnosed with autism.

  • Implement behavior and learning programs developed by our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs).

  • Help children build critical skills in communication, social interaction, independence, and emotional regulation.

  • Work in home, school, and community settings with the full support of our clinical team.

Our RBT Training & Certification Path (30–40 Days)

Once hired as a Behavior Technician, you’ll complete our structured in-house training program to earn your RBT credential:

  • Week 2: Complete your Competency Assessment under BCBA supervision.

  • Weeks 3–4: Schedule and take your RBT Board Exam.

This process is strictly structured and time-sensitive — we’re looking for individuals who are motivated, disciplined, and serious about building a career helping others.

Once certified, you’ll officially begin working as an RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) with House of Hearts ABA — with immediate pay at $25–$28/hour and opportunities for salary-based positions and rapid advancement.
