Description

Position Summary:

The Quality Lab Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the quality control laboratory to ensure that all testing, inspection, and analysis activities are performed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards. This role is responsible for supervising lab technicians, maintaining quality documentation, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to uphold product integrity and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of quality lab personnel, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
  • Ensure accurate and timely testing of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products in accordance with established procedures and specifications.
  • Review and approve test results, inspection reports, and Certificates of Analysis (COAs).
  • Maintain calibration and preventative maintenance schedules for all lab equipment and instruments.
  • Develop, update, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and testing protocols.
  • Investigate quality issues, nonconformances, and customer complaints, and support root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure consistent product quality and process improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, customer requirements, and applicable industry standards.
  • Maintain organized and accurate lab records, test data, and documentation for audits and regulatory reviews.
  • Promote a safe work environment by enforcing safety policies and proper handling of chemicals and equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing quality lab, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Strong understanding of quality control principles, measurement systems, and statistical analysis.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.
  • Proficiency with lab instruments, inspection tools, and data collection software.
  • Excellent attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily lab and production floor environment.
  • Regular exposure to manufacturing processes, testing equipment, and moderate noise levels.
  • Must adhere to PPE and safety protocols.
