• Full-Time Veterinary Assistant

  We are an AAHA-accredited, Fear Free-focused general practice with multiple doctors, a diverse caseload, and a strong technician team. Our hospital provides opportunities to build your skills while working alongside experienced veterinary professionals.
  What You'll Do
  As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll play an important role in supporting our doctors and technician team while providing excellent patient care.
  Responsibilities may include:
  
  • Assist with patient restraint and handling
  • Perform venipuncture
  • Place IV catheters
  • Assist with anesthesia and patient monitoring
  • Read and understand anesthetic monitoring equipment
  • Assist with surgical procedures and patient preparation
  • Support dental procedures and dental radiographs
  • Assist with diagnostics and treatments
  • Maintain a clean, organized environment
  • Work collaboratively with doctors, technicians, and the entire hospital team
  What We're Looking For
  Must-Have Qualifications
  
  • Teamwork & communication - able to collaborate smoothly with coworkers and maintain positive, professional interactions with clients.
  • Positive attitude - willing to jump in, learn new skills, support the team, and keep a sense of humor during busy days.
  
  Preferred (but not required) Experience
  
  • Anesthetic monitoring - familiarity with tracking patient vitals during procedures.
  • Reading monitoring equipment - ability to interpret values from ECG, pulse ox, BP, and other devices.
  • Venipuncture - comfortable obtaining blood samples safely and efficiently.
  • IV catheter placement - experience placing and securing IV catheters.
  • Dental prophylaxis - knowledge of performing routine dental cleanings.
  • Dental radiography - ability to obtain clear, diagnostic dental X-rays.

  • Provide Essential Patient Care: You'll be a key player in the health of our patients, assisting the medical team with hands-on care and ensuring every animal is treated with compassion and respect.
  • Be the Go-To Support for the Medical Team: You'll be the backbone of the clinic, anticipating the needs of veterinarians and technicians to ensure a smooth, efficient, and collaborative workflow.
  • Create a Positive Client Experience: You'll help create a seamless visit for our clients by assisting with scheduling, payments, and communications, always with a courteous and informative approach.
  • Ensure a Safe and Clean Environment: You'll take pride in maintaining the hospital, performing clinic upkeep and equipment maintenance to uphold our high standards of care.
  What You'll Bring to the Team
  
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A calm and efficient approach, with the ability to handle a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment with composure.
  • Confidence and skill in handling pets of all sizes and temperaments.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in fundamental veterinary skills ranging from laboratory and pharmacy to nursing and radiology is a strong asset.
